History

The emerald cut diamond origins date back to the 1500s, with reduced pressure required during the cutting process of this shape further reducing the chipping of diamond, the producers inverted what we call the modern age "Emerald Cut" in early 1900s.

Significance

Emerald Cut has one of the largest table surface area compared to all the other shapes which makes it the ideal choice for flaunting the jewelry of this shape. The largest Emerald shape diamond ever witnessed was a 313ct D-Coloured VVS clarity diamond which took nearly 18-months to produce.
