History
Pear Shape Diamond was originally created by the infamous Lodewyk Van Berquem of Belgium in the year 1458 but the Brilliant Cut look that we witness today was added in late 1700s. Since the beginning they were the most challenging shapes to produce because while producing them the rough loss was high.
Significance
This shape is also referred to as the 'Teardrop' shape because of its rounded corners as well as narrow & pointed tip. This shape stands out when crafted inside a jewelry because they carry a versatile style and when compared to a round diamond, they are actually 8% larger from the top surface.
